GUTHRIE —
Alex Shook and the Edmond Memorial Cross Country team took first place at the 2010 Guthrie Invitational Saturday at Cotton Wood Flats.
Shook was the meet champ running the 5,000 in 16:20. Teammate Simon Greiner took second place honors turning in a time of 16:47 and Seth Hammond finished the Bulldog trifecta eight seconds later at 16:55.
All seven of the memorial runners were in the top nine including: Kent Schmiedeberg — 17:32; Garrett Horn — 17:35; Geoffrey Johnson — 17:36; and Ryan Tatum — 17:36.
Edmond North took the runnerup positin in the meet which included Del City, Putnam West, Putnam City and Choctaw.
Memorial, North and Santa Fe will all compete in the Edmond North Dog Pack Run this Friday morning at Mitch Park.
