Special to The Sun
The Edmond North wrestling team sent their junior varsity team to the El Reno tournament this past weekend and for the fourth year in a row brought home the team title.
North sent 19 wrestlers to the tournament and 15 of them medaled by placing in the top four of their weight class. Leading the charge for the Huskies was Ethan Strange who placed first and was named outstanding wrestler of the tournament.
Also placing first for North were Hunter Walsh, Drew Alexander, Austin Cunningham and Houston Knight. Placing second were Caleb Alexander, Zach Lobb and Don Carmen. Claiming third place was Caymen Robertson, Luke MacNaughton, Chandler Peterson and Duncan Connelly. Rounding out the medalists in fourth place were Seth Tettleton, Al Sylvester and Bailey Byers.
“We have a strong team and a lot of our JV guys are good enough to be on most teams’ varsity squads. Our guys realize that and it shows in the way they dominated this weekend. I’m proud of their accomplishments and their effort,” North Coach Andy Schneider said.
