Lady Wolves make 5th straight state trip

EDMOND — The Edmond Santa Fe Lady Wolves enter the state tournament eyeing a third straight Class 6A title after beating Putnam City in the area finals at Choctaw on Thursday night.

The top-ranked Lady Wolves beat PC 59-42 to bring their record to 2-1 against the Lady Pirates, who handed Santa Fe their only loss of the year, a one-point thriller in the second game of the season. Santa Fe is 23-1 overall and will make their fifth consecutive state tournament appearance.

The Lady Wolves were led in scoring by Aahliyah Jackson’s 13, Cameerah Graves’ 12 and Tamara Lee’s 10.

The state tournament begins Thursday at Tulsa’s Mabee Center.
