Idaho woman admits lying to grand jury

Associated Press

OKLAHOMA CITY An Idaho woman has pleaded guilty to lying to a multicounty grand jury last year that was investigating a 1980 Pontotoc County murder.

Aletha Ann Vaught entered the blind plea Friday in Oklahoma County District Court to one count of perjury. She will be sentenced Jan. 20.

Vaught was called as a witness in the case after a monitored telephone conversation revealed she may have information about the crime.

The multicounty grand jury ultimately indicted Judie Ann Hansen in the 1980 killing of her husband. Hansen was convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
