Oklahoma-Texas football activist E.Z. Million dies

NORMAN, Okla. — NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — A Norman man who campaigned for years for the annual Oklahoma-Texas football game to be played on a home-and-home basis has died.



Elmer Zen "E.Z." Million died Saturday in his Norman home at age 68. A cause of death wasn't immediately available.



Million graduated from Weatherford High School and the University of Oklahoma. He formed the Sooner Chamber of Commerce in 1993 in an effort to move the annual Oklahoma-Texas rivalry game away from Dallas, where the teams have played since 1929.



He received five minutes to plead his case during a 2002 meeting of OU regents, to no avail.



Million often ran for public office as a Republican or independent, including a 2004 race for lieutenant governor, but won none of those races.



Million's name was derived from his father's name, Elmer, and his mother's name, Zenna Belle.
