Oklahoma Lupus Foundation Winter Symposium in Ardmore

Ardmore — The South Central Support Group of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Lupus Foundation will have an informative Lupus Symposium in Ardmore on Jan. 30. The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Mercy Memorial Medical Center in the lower level conference room. The symposium is free and open to the public.  

The Lupus Foundation's mission during the symposium is to educate the public and help newly diagnosed patients.

Symposium speakers will include Kristi Klein, RN, Clinical Research Nurse and Coordinator for the BENLYSTA Clinical Trials, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Klein has worked closely with Dr. Joan Merrill, medical director for the Lupus Foundation of America, on this new lupus drug, which if approved this year, will be the first new lupus treatment developed in more than 50 years.
