AG names Kennedy to Tobacco Trust board

OKLAHOMA CITY — Attorney General Drew Edmondson has appointed Oklahoma City businessman John Kennedy to the board of directors of the Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust.

Created by a voter-approved constitutional amendment in 2000, the trust manages and allocates funds received from the 1998 tobacco settlement on programs to improve the health of Oklahomans.

Founder of Irish Realty and a former Oklahoma Secretary of State, Kennedy has a long history of community service.

He currently serves on the boards of directors of the Oklahoma Creativity Project, Heritage Hall School and the University of Oklahoma Fred Jones, Jr. Museum of Art.

He is also a member of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Dean's Alumni Leadership Council.

Kennedy will fill the unexpired term of Dr. Robert McCaffree.
