Police identify pawn shop owner killed in OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City police have identified a man accidentally shot and killed inside a pawn shop as 32-year-old Jason Baggett of Oklahoma City.

Baggett is the son of Oklahoma Democratic Party Secretary James Baggett.

Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow says an employee of Freedom Pawn Shop in northwest Oklahoma City was looking for a serial number on a rifle that had been brought into the store when it discharged Saturday afternoon. Wardlow says Jason Baggett was the owner of the pawn shop.

Baggett died at the scene, and Wardlow says investigators believe the shooting was accidental.
