ENID, Okla. —
Family Saturday at Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War and will feature such activities as Army drills and gun displays.
The event will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday and is free with admission to the museum.
Civil War Family Saturday is being held in conjunction with a special exhibit on “Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War.” The exhibit is on display at the Heritage Center through May 16. The exhibit addresses the topics of division in the United States, the Civil War, slavery and civil liberties. To compliment the exhibit, the winning artwork from the Roberts Ranch Smokin’ Red Dirt BBQ student art show is on display. Students worked with the same exhibit theme in mind when creating their winning pieces of art.
