Student killed in shooting at Stillwater school

STILLWATER — Stillwater police Capt. Randy Dickerson confirmed one child has been shot at Stillwater Junior High School Wednesday morning.

Police are investigating, but believe the shot may have been self-inflicted. Associated Press is reporting that a student has died.

Stillwater Public School officials notified parents Wednesday morning a shooting happened around 8 a.m. had occurred at Stillwater Junior High School, 1900 N. Skyline St.

Students and staff are in their safe lockown locations with their classroom teachers, the notification said.Parents are asked to pick up Stillwater Junior High Students at Cimarron Plaza north of Stillwater High School.

Here is the text of the letter.

"There was a single shooting incident at the school today. The students and staff are currently in their safe lockdown locations with their classroom tachers. At approximately 9 a.m. all students will begin to be transported to Cimaroon Plaza via SPS transportation for parent pick up. Parents will not be allowed to pick up their students at school today. Please pick them up at Cimarron Plaza."
