TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police are investigating the death of a baby at an in-home daycare center.
According to a news release, officers received a call at 11:37 a.m. Thursday about a 4-month-old boy who wasn't breathing at an east Tulsa residence. When officers arrived, emergency medical technicians had already pronounced the child dead.
Investigators say the baby's mother left him at the daycare at 7:30 a.m.
According to the release, the daycare provider says the boy was sleeping in a crib in a rear bedroom and appeared all right when she checked on him at 10 a.m.
When she returned about an hour later, the provider noticed the baby wasn't breathing and she notified medical personnel.
Investigators say there were no visible injuries to the child.
The state Medical Examiner's office will determine a cause of death.
