UCO’S Greenride program to offer carpool options

EDMOND — The University of Central Oklahoma’s Office of Commuter Student Services recently formed a new partnership with the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments to merge Central’s GreenRide with Oklahoma City’s GetAroundOK to provide the Central community with more carpool and rideshare options.

GetAroundOK provides many incentives including instant carpool matches based on user preferences, a way to track commutes to see the positive environmental impact made, bike and pedestrian routes, park and ride routes, and a free taxi ride home in case of an emergency.

Nathan Box, coordinator for Commuter Student Services, said the new partnership means GreenRide will no longer be the web-based application Central students, staff and faculty use to find alternative means of transportation to and from campus.

To get started with GetAroundOK, visit www.GetAroundOK.com.

Those with an active UCO e-mail address should search for the University of Central Oklahoma when visiting the Web site.

Central students still can use the web-based GreenRide application until the transition to GetAroundOK is complete.
