UCO invites public comment as part of accreditation visit

EDMOND — The University of Central Oklahoma invites public comment in advance of an accreditation self-study visit Nov. 12-14 by a team representing the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

For the last 2 1/2 years, the University of Central Oklahoma has been engaged in a self-study process, assessing the implementation of its mission as a regional institution within the Oklahoma higher education system.

The HLC’s site visit team will gather evidence that the self-study is thorough and accurate. The team will recommend to the HLC a continuing status for the university, and, following a review process, the HLC itself will take the final action.

The public is invited to submit comments regarding the university as a part of this process. Comments should be sent to: Public Comment on the University of Central Oklahoma, Higher Learning Commission, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, 230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, IL 60604.

Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of UCO or its academic programs and must be signed by the person submitting it. Comments should include the name, address and telephone number of the person providing the comments. Note that comments will not be treated as confidential.
