EDMOND —
At 6 p.m. Saturday, the choirs from the University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University and the University of Oklahoma will unite for a night of musical praise and worship entitled “One Night with the King.” This event will be at the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel on the campus of Oklahoma City University and is free and open to the public.
Each year the gospel choirs from these schools normally present their own individual concerts for the fall school year. This year the leadership of all three choirs collaborated to bring together the choirs for one massive gospel explosion.
Oklahoma is invited to celebrate the holiday season during this electrifying concert featuring a combined choir of more than 40 students, musicians and special guests. Although the concert admission is free, there will be a donation offering accepted that will benefit the Mission Ministry of the Inner City Church, which is a regular community service project of Oklahoma City University’s Generation Blessed Gospel Choir.
OU’s Gospel Choir is under the direction of alumnus Ryan Marsh and Elijah Frederick. UCO’s Ebony Gospel Choir (EGC) is led by Am’re Ford. Isaiah Bailey is the president of OCU’s Generation Blessed Gospel Choir ministry, and Brian W. Fugett is the director.
