Rachel Erin McGuire and Patrick Davis Anthony

EDMOND — Patrick Davis Anthony and Rachel Erin McGuire of Edmond, Okla. were united in marriage on Friday, September 25, 2009, at 6:30 p.m.

Dr. Gene Nease officiated at the double ring ceremony before an arch entwined with greenery and white lights near a waterfall on the beautiful grounds of Coles Garden in Oklahoma City.

The bride, escorted by her father, Ken McGuire, wore a strapless dress of ivory satin. The full skirt laced in back extended into a train featuring a beaded floral trim. The mother of the bride, Lynn McGuire, wore a purple satin suit.

Her Matron of Honor was Stacy White and serving as bridesmaids were Megan Dubray, Brooke Lauer, and Shannon Ramsey, all of Edmond. Their dresses carried out the bride’s chosen colors of ivory and brown, as did the dresses of the flower girls, Kaylen McConnell, daughter of the bride and Kailey White, daughter of the Matron of Honor.

Patrick chose as his Best Man, a former classmate and friend since kindergarten, Daniel Geer. Groomsmen were Ryan Gille, John Laudick and Ryan McGuire, brother of the bride.

Completing the wedding party were ushers Ryan Chyzy and Gabe Pruitt. Program attendants were the bride’s step-sisters, Danielle and Courtney Adler. Music was provided by Tom Nix.

Guests were invited to attend a dinner reception in the event center of Coles Garden where the band “Groundwork” played for dancing.

The bride’s three tiered wedding cake was frosted in ivory with bands and designs of brown. A large OU logo topped the groom’s chocolate cake. The couple toasted each other with silver champagne flutes which had been a gift from the groom’s deceased grandfather to his grandmother on her 65th birthday.

The couple plan to take a honeymoon Caribbean cruise in November. They and daughter Kaylen will make their home in Edmond, Okla.
