EDMOND — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is resurfacing about 3.5 miles of State Highway 66, said Cole Hackett, ODOT spokesman.

Periodic lane closures on eastbound and westbound lanes are closed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday through mid-April. Motorists traveling on S.H. 66 between Interstate-35 and Arcadia are impacted by the project.

“They will just have that lane closed that they’re working on,” Hackett said. “And then the rest of it will be opened up like usual. … If they’re not out there, they’ll open it back up.”

The speed limit has been lowered to 45 mph in the area with cones and barrels to alert motorists.

“It’s a little bit over a $1 million project,” Hackett said.

Haskell Lemon Construction Co. out of Oklahoma City is the contractor for the project.
