Edmond Memorial Students get dose of Shakespeare

EDMOND — English I students at Edmond Memorial High School received some hands-on learning Wednesday during a Shakespeare festival on campus.

Teachers Elanna Killackey, Melinda Moore, Tara Goike, Sunny Baldridge and Lisa Delgado Brown organized the festival on the school’s running track featuring archery, fencing, dancing, jousting, mask making, stone throwing and tug of war. Students went through different rotations and had the opportunity to participate in four to five of the events.

Infant Brennan Lane is INTEGRIS Health Edmond's 1,000th baby to be born. Brennan was born at 11:22 a.m., Wednesday, July 31 during one of Edmond's now frequent earthquakes. Welcoming Brennan are Dr. Robert Schiermeyer, his delivering doctor; mother Kayla Nissen and father Bryan Lane of Piedmont and attending nurse Heather Molet. Molet also helped deliver INTEGRIS' first infant in October 2011.
