More than 100 University of Central Oklahoma students and others donated blood Tuesday, part of UCO’s annual back-to-school Stampede Week. Julie Gimmel, the Oklahoma Blood Institute’s blood program consultant, said UCO ranks third among state universities in donating blood. Gimmel said the state’s blood supply is at a fairly good level now, partly because college students and eligible high school students are such loyal donors.
