OKLAHOMA CITY — Andre Vaughn of Northern Oklahoma Junior College in Enid has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Oklahoma Christian University.

Vaughn had a decorated two-year stint at Northern Oklahoma, earning all-conference and all-region honors. The 6-5 guard was the Bi-State Conference Co-MVP while averaging 15.1 points and 6.5 rebounds as a sophomore.

“Andre is an immediate impact player for us, without question,” Oklahoma Christian head coach Dan Hays said. “He gives us some much-needed athleticism, but he’s also very skilled. He has the ability to play the two through four spots on the floor.”

Vaughn played at Highland High School in Albuquerque, N.M., where he was coached by former OC all-conference guard Danny Brown. Brown is No. 21 on the Eagles’ all-time scoring list with 1,333 career points from 1993 to 1997.

Vaughn was the Gatorade and New Mexico Tribune New Mexico Player of the Year as a senior. He led the state with 24.1 points per game and also snagged 10.3 rebounds per game.
