Small-business owners Kamanu and Chrichelle Fernandez enjoy using their creativity to serve others.

Kamanu, also known as KJ, and Chrichelle are the owners of a small, family business known as the Sweet Pineapple Shop. They specialize in creating hand-crafted custom gifts, specialty military items, engraving, signs, wood crafts, wreaths and more.

Chrichelle is a graphic designer with more than 18 years of experience and has always enjoyed creating small gifts and various projects. KJ is currently active duty in the U.S. Air Force as a flight engineer with more than 16 years in the service.

“We love coming up with new ideas, and working with customers on turning their vision into reality,” Chrichelle said.

The Fernandez family is articulate when it comes to detail and love working with customers to create personalized pieces.

“We take pride in seeing a customer fall in love with what we have created for them,” Chrichelle said.

She stated she originally began creating projects on the side as a creative release from her regular full-time job in marketing. After getting their start through craft shows and social media, business quickly picked up with a high-demand for wood projects, Chrichelle said.

They soon purchased a laser machine and a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, and opened their business in May 2018, she added.

“We have a passion for serving others and celebrating special moments,” Chrichelle said. “Our goal is to provide customers with personalized pieces that capture happy memories to enjoy all year long.”
