As one lets the imagination be the guide, it is time to think outside the chocolate box for an innovative idea for that special someone or occasion.
One-of-a-kind Nothing Bundt Cakes bills itself as purveyor of nostalgic yet refreshingly modern Bundt cakes, and it is spreading its wholesome goodness to the Edmond area.
Co-owners Toby and Marie Hicks, who is also store manager, are part of the group of investors who have opened the area’s newest bakery at 2520 W. Memorial Road, Suite B in Quail Springs Shoppes. They opened their store recently and will host several grand opening activities beginning Feb. 22 and continuing with various events throughout Friday and Saturday of that week.
Nothing Bundt Cakes reintroduces an old family favorite — the Bundt cake — with a new look that appeals to all ages. Each cake features custom concept cake decorations.
When one steps through the doors they experience the smell of freshly baking Bundt cakes all made with fresh eggs, real butter and cream cheese, and they anticipate that first bite of a freshly baked Bundt cake.
Customers feel they are stepping back in time when life was a little sweeter, the pace a little slower, and mom or grandmother proudly set dessert, a beautiful Bundt cake on the table for dinner or special occasions.
As for Marie, she says managing Nothing Bundt Cakes is the perfect job.
“I like people and I like to help people celebrate,” Marie said.
Nine flavors greet the customer each day with featured flavors each month. February’s featured flavor is lemon and raspberry.
Bundt cakes offered each day include chocolate chocolate chip, pecan praline, lemon, white white chocolate, white chocolate raspberry, marble, carrot, red velvet and cinnamon swirl.
Instead of the thin drizzle of icing over the top of the Bundt cake of the past, today each cake is iced with one of two cream cheese icing choices, petal frosting or a thick icing drizzle.
Nothing Bundt Cakes offers customers a wide range of cake sizes. From bite-sized by the dozen Bundtinis to a single-serving Bundtlet, an 8-inch cake that serves eight, a 10-inch cake that serves 18 or tiered cakes that serves about 26, all frosted and/or decorated in a box or cellophane wrapper.
Case cakes are ready to go, but for custom items there may be a 20-minute wait.
“We encourage online ordering, and appreciate 24 hours in advance for larger orders,” Marie said.
With 40 specialty designs available to choose from, the customer has a new answer for what to give.
“Our cakes are great for wedding or baby showers, corporate gifting, thank-yous, birthdays, groom’s cakes and more,” Marie said.
“I hope these cakes will become a part of everyone’s lives, whether as a personal indulgence, a special gift or a centerpiece during any gathering or special occasion,” Marie Hicks said.
“We are also excited to become a part of this community and partner with meaningful organizations, such as Infant Crisis Services, furthering our commitment and dedication to the community in which we live and work.”
The store also features unique gifts that complement their product line including cards, decorator items, nostalgic aprons, cake plates, platters and more.
