The University of Central Oklahoma has named Thanh Tran, Ph.D., marketing professor, as the College of Business’s associate dean effective June 1.
Since joining the UCO College of Business in 2009, Tran has been honored with numerous awards, including the 2018 College of Business Excellence in Research Award, the 2015 Neely Excellence in Teaching Award, the 2013 eLearning Excellence Award and the 2010 McGraw-Hill Irwin Distinguished Paper Award.
“It is a great honor to serve the college and university in the role of associate dean,” said Tran.
“I am confident that with the support of the faculty and university leadership the College of Business will continue on the path of growth and will succeed as the premier provider of business education in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.”
In his new position, Tran will oversee the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation efforts, business analytics for strategies, control and operations, and faculty management and development.
Monica Lam, Ph.D., dean of the UCO College of Business, said Tran is well equipped for the position.
“Dr. Tran is well known for his impactful scholarship and dedication to student success in and out of the classroom. I am very glad Dr. Tran will be serving as the associate dean supporting AACSB accreditation and many important tasks in the College of Business,” said Lam.
Tran holds a combined bachelor’s and master’s degree in industrial biotechnology from Warsaw University of Technology, a master’s in management and marketing from the University of Warsaw, and a doctorate in marketing from the University of Central Florida.
