The Edmond Evening Lions Club built weather-proof, heavy duty picnic tables and brought them to Edmond’s Boulevard Academy, Thurs., Oct. 12. Academy students and staff and Lions Club members installed the tables.
Then they used the tables for conversation on the sunny south breezeway. Academy students will use the tables during break times and for selected meetings, class projects and discussion sessions.
Assisting Boulevard Academy is part of Edmond Lions Club’s celebration of the Centennial of Lions Club International. Service projects focus on health, the environment, education, and community building.
Edmond Lions Club performs Kids’ Sight Eye Screenings, supports the Oklahoma Lions Eye Bank, collects gently used eye glasses to be refurbished and given to those in need, staffs the Lions Mobile Health Unit, and supports Meadows of Hope (family homes, foster care.)
