More than 150 guests filled the balcony lobby on Oct. 18, to celebrate the official launch of the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation's 20th performing arts series.
Enjoying a delightful spread of hors-d'oeuvres prepared by head chef Dawn Krueger, guests mingled and celebrated for a half hour before the program began.
Armstrong concert manager Ryan Malone addressed the gathering and traced the history and growth of the series.
“If you know anything about us, we always start new projects very small,” Malone said. “I gave the very first piano recital on the series on Oct. 31, 1998, at our offices in Edmond.”
Following Mr. Malone's remarks, Armstrong marketing director and house manager Shane Granger led the festivities in a champagne toast.
“We want to thank the many people who have made this series a success,” Granger said before listing a bevy of groups, many of whom were in attendance.
Following the reception, the group moved into the theater where Time For Three gave a performance with their signature style of mixing classical favorites with modern pop tunes.
