Founder of ‘Arts for All’ to present workshop

The University of Central Oklahoma Art Department will present a free workshop for teachers and students with Dwayne Szot, founder of the “Arts for All” organization, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct.13 in Room 109 of the Chambers Library on the UCO campus.

Szot is a working artist and educator who has won international acclaim for his inventions that allow disabled children and adults to create art. The workshop will include hands-on demonstrations of those tools.

The workshop is limited to 20 people.

Szot’s appearance at UCO is part of a two-day visit to Edmond. On Oct. 14, he will present a workshop at the Multi Activity Center.

UCO fashion show to benefit Miss Asian UCO Pageant Scholarship

The University of Central Oklahoma will have a fashion show to benefit the Miss Asian UCO Scholarship Pageant at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 in the university’s Constitution Hall.

Sponsored by UCO’s Asian American Student Association, the event will feature UCO students and pageant contestants who are competing in this year’s Miss Asian UCO Pageant.

The 2007-08 Miss Asian UCO Pageant will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 in UCO’s Constitution Hall. For more information, call 974-5944.
