A luminous and vibrant Zinnia Macchia by Dale Chihuly, original art by Desmond Mason, tandem skydiving, UCO Boat House rental, Dave Matthews Band suite tickets, tattooing, a hot air balloon ride, Thunder tickets, a weeks stay at Hilton Head Island, a night at the Shadid Museum, original jewelry, special dinners, and fresh flowers each month for a year are just some of the items available at the 2016 Spring Sampler auction.

This annual fund raising event for the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond will begin at 7 p.m. April 9 at Oak Tree Country Club. The premier arts event in Edmond, it is always a sold-out affair.

“Oak Tree is a beautiful venue for our auction and gives us appropriate space, a beautifully appointed environment, and an exciting atmosphere for the party,” says Kim Wallace, co chairman with Angie Heigle. “We are excited to have many new auction items this year, easier bidding and quicker check out.”

The evening includes a buffet of food and wine tasting and the added attraction of live and silent auctions.

Board members, committee members, faculty, and staff are busy preparing for this important fund raising evening. Tickets are $150 per couple and on sale now at the Fine Arts Institute at 27 E. Edwards, across the street north from the Edmond downtown post office.

“Excitement is high for this annual fund raising event. We are pleased with the quality of auction items which include some truly beautiful and unique art,” states Wallace. “Tickets are on a first come-first serve basis and go quickly.”

Profits from the event go toward operational expenses for the Fine Arts Institute.

Artists donating original works include: Bert Seabourn, Jennifer Hustis, Joan Frimberger, Stephen Grimes, Brad McNeill, Shannon Davies, Andy Boatman, Dana Powell, James Coplin, Thomas Stotts, Bryan Dahlvang, Gary Lennon, Tamara Arnoldy, Mary Lou Moad and others.

Additional auction items include a golf and sports packages, dinners, household and decorative items, women’s and men’s accessories, tickets to local events, and children’s packages. Special birthday parties are available for bid as well as gift baskets and gift certificates. Photography, fitness, and advertising packages are also included.

The Fine Arts Institute is Edmond’s non-profit arts organization offering educational enrichment for adults and children in the visual and performing arts.
