Studio Z Art & Events with the Edmond Fine Arts Institute announces exhibition of the latest work by Native American pop expressionist artist Zonly Looman March 1-March 31 in Edmond.

Studio Z Art & Events and the Edmond Fine Arts Institute announce Zonly Looman: Enter The WILD, an exhibition of the celebrated young Native American pop expressionist artist’s latest body of work.

The exhibition includes an opening week artist reception from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 7 with a live paint performance and address, intertwining the theme of the exhibition with those of Native mythology and artistic creation, or Enter The WILD, standing for Weird Inner Life Dreams. Also featured are 13 new acrylic on canvas paintings with an artist-conceived story catalogue that was developed to create interactions between the audience and the art.

This is the artist’s first major exhibition at the Edmond Fine Arts Institute. Zonly Looman: Enter The WILD exhibition will be on display through March 31, 2019. The new artworks will feature the artist’s iconic buffalo in a visual journey transcending the contemporary world into the other world.

With Enter The WILD, Looman has combined traditional painting techniques to create artworks of formal and material complexity as well as narrative density. The added feature in the exhibition to include the audience through the story catalogue intends to set forth an interactive experience for each attendee. As a pop expressionist artist, Looman has evolved to add verbal messaging with most pieces to encourage meaning of emotional experience. Each new work is a colorful portrayal of the grandeur of America as those taking part journey with the majestic buffalo as it intertwines into the storyline through Looman’s own vision quest.

At the March 7 artist reception several local partners of Looman and Studio Z Art & Events will be stepping into the WILD to greet attendees with an array of wines, signature cocktails and eats. Taking part are: La Baguette Bistro,Clauren Ridge

Vineyard and Winery,Chef Curry To Go,andElite Wines & Spirits. Guests will be treated to a Live Paint Performance and address followed by the give-away of the newly created artwork to one lucky attendee. This is a free event open to the public. Artwork on display will be available for purchase.
