Bids have been accepted by the city for Legacy Station streets and utilities, and funds are needed to support upcoming Habitat For Humanity-Turning Point Ministries builds.
This 12-home community, located between the downtown post office and the railroad, will be a constantly changing landscape over the coming months. Progress can be followed at www.turningpointoklahoma.org.
The first home will be built just as soon as the development is completed. Because of weather constraints, the ministry cannot provide an exact start date. Construction volunteers are urged to e-mail Dick Freeman at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In 2010, Turning Point needs about $100,000 to build four Legacy Station homes. The First Presbyterian Church of Edmond has committed $25,000 to this goal and other churches are being approached to help as well. Individual financial help is needed as well.
Checks may be mailed to: Turning Point Ministries, 3206 Teakwood Lane, Edmond OK 73013 with Turning Point in the memo line. The ministry greatly appreciates those who have already generously contributed financially and with sweat equity.
