Police seeking help in identifying beer bust bandits

The Edmond Police Department is asking for help identifying suspects who allegedly stole three 24-packs of Budweiser Light beer from the EZ Mart, 301 W. Edmond Road, early Saturday morning.

Police were called to the store about 4 a.m. Saturday, where an employee Robin Dean said a white teenage male took one pack or beer and a white teenage female took two packs from the business, according to a police report.

Value of the beer was listed on the report as $53.97.

Store surveillance cameras caught the suspects during the event. Anyone who recognizes the suspects is asked to call 359-4472, said police spokesperson Glynda Chu.


Event to help seniors with prescriptions, health screenings

The seventh annual Senior Awareness Day will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Crossroads Mall in Oklahoma City. The event, sponsored by Oklahoma County Triad, Sheriff John Whetsel and Integris Health Third Age Life will have 40 exhibitors including free health screenings at the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office substation.

In addition, OU College of Pharmacy will provide a pharmacist and assistants to review any senior’s prescribed and over-the-counter medications for any interactions.

Congressman Ernest Istook, R-0klahoma, will be present with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Mobile Office Tour Bus. They will assist any senior citizen regarding the Medicare Prescription Drug Program, as well as offer them enrollment assistance. A representative from the Social Security Administration also will be present who can take applications for extra help in paying prescription drug costs.

Happy Tracks Square Dance Club will perform as well as vocalist Patricia McDoulett from noon to 1 p.m. and door prizes will be given away for those present.
