Edmond Police arrested a 28-year-old man who allegedly showed up Thursday at a local bar displaying a taser.
According to a report filed by Edmond Officer Jacob Wilmott, police were dispatched to The Wolf Trap, 1109 S. Broadway, at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday after a call about a possible armed suspect.
When Wilmott and another officer arrived, they found an Edmond Police sergeant already on scene grappling with a man who was refusing to be restrained, the report states. The two new officers joined in, eventually gaining control of the man and handcuffing him without injury, the report states.
Wilmott states the suspect had red, watery and bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. The suspect was incoherent and would only answer questions with “Thank you.”
The Wolf Trap’s manager told police that the suspect entered the bar and brandished a taser. He was asked to leave, which he did. Not long after, the suspect re-entered the building and walked up to the bar, brandishing the taser again and began to “spark” it, the report states.
Police transported the suspect to the municipal jail. Ryan Edward McQueen, 28, of Oklahoma City, was arrested on complaints of carrying a harmful weapon and public intoxication, according to the report. The taser was booked into police property.
