Edmond Police filed prostitution charges against an Edmond woman following an investigation. An arrest was made against Hong Ye Ye Ren, 46, of Edmond, a co-owner of the Pearl of Orient Spa, 2000 W. Danforth Rd., Suite 124.
Police had received information that the business was engaging in prostitution with its clientele, Hunt stated.
“I am familiar with business in that the Special Investigations Unit worked a case against this business in 2017, Hunt reported.
Ren told police she had been a co-owner of the business since February, according to Officer Hunt.
Edmond Police with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBN) human trafficking unit worked the undercover operation at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 12. An undercover officer (UC) purchased an hour massage for $60 with Hong Ye Ren, Hunt noted.
The UC was inside the business for 45 minutes when the UC changed positions, and Hong Ye Ren grabbed the UC inappropriately, Hunt stated. The UC stopped the action and asked Ren how much, Hunt continued. The female agreed to perform a lewd act, according to the police report.
“The UC then said ‘okay’ and gave the take down signal to call for the surveillance unit to come into the store,” Hunt stated.
Ren was arrested and charged with engaging in prostitution. She was not read Miranda due to the language barrier, the report states.
