Edmond Police are investigating information regarding a first degree burglary in progress, said Jenny Wagnon, Edmond Police spokeswoman. The female suspect was described in the police report as driving a medium-sized older sport utility vehicle.
Officer Matt Harden was dispatched to the 4700 block of Sooner Road at approximately 11:23 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3 by the female victim at the residence, he reported. A white female was trying to gain entry into the victim’s home through the garage before leaving the scene, according to the report.
The homeowner had recently installed surveillance cameras after someone tried to break into her home.
“She said she was in the kitchen this morning when she noticed a white female walking down her driveway from the road,” Harden reported. “She said she keeps the gate out on Sooner locked, so the female suspect had to climb through the gate.
“(The victim) said the female tried to open the gate by the house, but she said she keeps it locked so entry was not made.”
The intruder left the residence by driving the SUV southbound. The female suspect is described as being 35-45 years of age wearing a gray long sleeved T-shirt, blue pants, and tall brown boots, the report states. She has wavy-blonde shoulder length hair and appears to weigh between 130-150 pounds.
The suspect failed to enter the home of the victim’s property. Nothing was taken, Harden continued. Photographs were taken of the suspect’s bootprints.
“The victim is very concerned that the suspect will attempt to break into her home again,” Harden stated.
