Four boys and a girl dotted the recent golf All State rosters released this week after four of the five named won at least a team championship during early May’s golf state tournaments.
Edmond North’s Brock Polhill, individual 6A state champion, was joined by Blake Blaser as the first two represented on the West’s All State roster, with the two seniors leading North to a championship last week.
Polhill and Blaser weren’t the only athletes that Brock Van Cleave added to the rosters, either, with North’s Emilie Jackson as the city’s only representation on the girls All State roster for 2018. Jackson shot a 162 in the state tournament at Bartlesville’s Hillcrest Country Club, finishing sixth overall and leading the Lady Huskies to a 21-stroke team win.
Two more athletes joined North’s duo on the boys West All State roster, too, with Oklahoma Christian School’s Carson Tewell and Memorial’s Trent Lutze being named on the list. Tewell shot a three-round 215 — good for a top-10 finish and 3A team state championship at Oklahoma City’s Trosper Park Golf Course. Lutze had a top-25 finish in 6A, with a 231 at Broken Arrow’s Forest Ridge.
