The Edmond North girls once again left their competition in the dust. The Lady Huskies took first place in the 5A girls race at the Pre-State Meet Friday afternoon at Mitch Park.

Edmond Memorial was second-best with 105 points, and Edmond Santa Fe came in 11th place with 313 points.

North’s Erin Watson was the top Edmond runner, coming in fifth place with a time of 12:15. The Lady Huskies had four other top 20 runners in the 3200 meter race. Jordan Taylor came in 11th with a time of 12:42, Megan Watson was 13th with a time of 12:44, Hannah Helker was 15th with a time of 12:50 and Allee Cooper ran a time of 13:03 that was good for 18th place. Other North runners included; Jenny Ortman 13:22 (31) and Anna Kimsey 13:34 (37)

Memorial’s Jill Enge finished just behind Erin Watson, taking sixth place with a time of 12:23. The Lady Bulldogs other runners included; Carley Ellis 13:04 (20), K.K. Wasbourne 13:09.30 (22), Cristina Gonzales 13:09.65, Emily Day 13:24 (34), Kelly Raines 14:10 (58)and Rebecca Laxton 14:16 (65).

Sarah Van Hoose was the Lady Wolves’ top runner, coming in 47th place with a time of 13:51. Other Santa Fe runners included; McKenzie Cobble 14:03 (56), Deandra Denton 14:13 (60), Shamela Gray 14:37 (74), Peggy Humes 14:40 (76), Rebecca Musgrove 14:50 (81) and Natasha Kotey 17:38 (105).

Westmoore’s Katelin Cherry won the 5A race with a time of 11:51.20

North and Santa Fe will compete Tuesday at the Metro Conference Meet at Santa Fe High School. The junior varsity girls will run at 4 p.m. and the varsity girls 3200 meter race will start at 4:30 p.m. Memorial will head to the Mid-State Conference Meet on Tuesday.
